Thank you for stopping by for today's Club Scrap Blog Hop post. I hope you started at the Club Scrap Blog HERE or from Annette's BLOG to see their wonderful creations using the Woven Strands Collection.
This month I used a 12 by 12 plain white piece of cardstock and the mask (stencil) included in the Deluxe kit. I also used the Club Scrap Clear Emboss and Watermark ink pad, which I re-inked to make sure it was extra juicy.
I rubbed the ink directly over the mask on the white cardstock and moved the mask several times to cover the whole page. In essence covering the paper with the ink, except the paper covered by the mask. Using a heat gun the clear embossing powder was heated/melted.
While checking the picture it became very obvious that it was not all shiny, which meant it needed more heating., since I had missed many areas. It can be hard to see the clear embossing powder on the white cardstock. It took several pictures and more heat, until all the embossing powder was melted.
It is interesting to note the whitest areas are due to being under the mask, the shiny areas are from the ink and embossing powder.
To add colors I selected three sprays, basing the colors off of the designs and images in the kit.
The ink spray is absorbed in the paper, but not on the embossed areas, wiping the embossing areas off, the white areas show back up, due to the resist and the mask, it is like a double reverse.
Another picture of more ink wiped off of the embossed areas
The whole page is then cleaned off, which is very exciting and does not take very long at all.
The page was then cut into six 4 by 5 1/4 pieces, to be used as backgrounds on the following cards.
I hope you could tell the white is the shiny embossed areas and the colored areas are the white cardstock covered by the ink sprays.
Thank you for stopping by on the Club Scrap blog hop, as always I hope you can take a moment to leave a comment, they are very much appreciated. Next up is Tricia Morris click HERE to see what she has for us this month!
Stay special,
Cathy
