Thanks so much for stopping by my blog, I hope you joined the blog hop and came from Wendy's Blog and were able to enjoy her special creation, if not here is the link to her Blog. You can also start at the beginning here at Club Scrap's Blog, I would not want you to miss any great ideas.
Framed Silverware is what I am calling my Blog Hop 50's Kitchen project. Mark and I spent some fun time looking for silverware at a thrift store, while I did not expect to find matching pieces, we did, I would have been fine either way. We also found old frames which I thought would be perfect for the retro feel of this collection.
I was able to bend the silverware with ease, and then worked with items from the 50"s Kitchen collection. Here is a side view
The red cardstock was cut to 5 x 7 and run through my Big Shot with an embossing folder. I then used a Polar Block, it is a white rectangle four sided nail buffer with a little bit of grit. which I have had forever and use often, to distress and remove some paper from the embossed images
A title piece from the Lite kit was cut and distressed for an accent. I actually used a ruler to space out the three pieces of silverware and marked a half inch on either side of the forks and spoon to run the ribbon through. I thought three bows would be too much and liked the weaving affect.
The silverware also has a double sided adhesive dimensional under the top of the handle for stability. This was actually created to have a use as well, it can hold a recipe card while baking
or a sweet sentiment for a gift
Isn't the retro feel great for re-purposed items?
This month I was fortunate to be asked to be the 50's Kitchen Greetings to Go Guest Artist, here is a link to the cards created and shown earlier this month on Club Scrap's Blog March Guest Artist. It was a nice challenge to "up" these cards a bit, which was not easy because they work up quick and fast to be wonderful cards without my help, I hope you enjoy them.
Next on the blog hop is Annette at Digital Musing's, stop by and see what she has done this time too!
Thank you for stopping by and I really appreciate your comments, enjoy a wonderful day.
Cathy

A very practical, cute and novel use of old silverware. I'm forever trying to find things to prop up my recipe cards while I cook and this fits the bill to a "T." Thanks for sharing!
