Thanks for stopping by my blog, I hope you followed the Gnome for the Holidays Blog Hop from Kay's Keepsake's Blog or from Club Scrap Creates Blog.
I came up with something quick, easy and functional, an oldie but a goodie, Memo Pad Folio's.
These were created using the Gnome for the Holidays kit from Club Scrap.
Just one 12 by 12 paper is needed for each one, the decorating was done using elements from the Embellishment kit. Instructions will be included at the end of the post, for anyone interested, I believe mine were from Karen.
Here is a close up of the front of the red one
White was added to the beards, the eyelet was a black star from my stash and the bling is from the Fire and Ice kit.
The inside was decorated as well.
The next one is 12 by 12 patterned green cardstock
There was a dot of Pearl added to his hat and the inside decorated as well.
Lastly, a solid green 12 by 12 was used for this one
Did you notice the cute little bow on his shoe? He is also detailed in a sparkly gel pen, but the camera did not pick it up well.
Here is the inside
The directions are easy, but you need to be aware of any patterns on the paper when starting to score.
The inside pocket is created with a score line of 4" from the bottom of the paper, then turn the paper and from left to right, score at 2", 2- 1/4 and 7- 1/2 and 7- 3/4". Use a bone folder to get a crisp fold. Fold the 4 inch flap up to the inside, insert a memo pad and then fold around it, there is a 1/4 gutter on both sides of the memo pad. You might notice sometimes I had a wider cover and sometimes a more narrow one, the choice is up to you when you are scoring your paper. I adhere double sided tape the length of the left and right outer edges of the pocket, so the pocket is set.
Adhere an eyelet and put elastic through it and knot it on the inside, then wrap it around the folio. Decorate as much or little as you would like.
Here is the diagram I work from:
